Ask the
Coach
Dear Coach:
How do you pass someone when you’re
doing backstroke? Afraid of Collisions
Dear A.o. Collisions:  The
safest thing to do is to roll onto your front and do freestyle until you
complete the pass.
Dear
Coach:  Is it permitted to do a
dolphin kick during the glide phase of breaststroke?  A
Breaststroker
Dear A. Breaststroker:  No,
that is illegal.  You can lift your feet together, but not lower them
together in breaststroke (except for the one dolphin kick permitted as part of
the underwater pull out).
Dear
Coach:  How did the “Man from
Atlantis” drill get its name?  Young Swimmer
Dear Y. Swimmer:  From the TV
series of the same name that ran in 1977-1978, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_from_Atlantis.
You can also see a clip of the opening theme at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkLpM7HQ8SU&feature=related.
