If you are interested in an introductory survey on discrete-events simulation
(in Spanish), get the following Technical
Report.
The first phase of our work was devoted to analyze how to combine cellular
models with the DEVS formalism. The basic classes were defined, and the basic
abstract simulation mechanisms were included. The results of this work were
presented at the SCS European Simulation Multiconference, Istambul,
Turkey. 1997. A copy of this work, entitled "An
environment for Cellular DEVS model simulation", G. Wainer, C. Frydman, N.
Giambiasi.can be obtained here.
The second phase of the project was devoted to analyze the flattening of
the hierarchical models (to improve the performance of the hierarchical simulations).
In this phase a formal definition of the coupling for cellular models was
depicted, and the inclusion of different kinds of delays (transport or inertial)
were added to the cell's behavior. Some of the results obtained in this phase
were presented at the 9th. SCS European Simulation Simposium, Passau, Germany,
1997, with the title: "Cell-Devs
models with inertial and transport delays", (Authors: G. Wainer, C. Frydman,
N. Giambiasi; 1997).
After, the Cell-DEVS was fully defined. To obtain a copy of the formalism
presentation, the following Technical
Report can be studied.
The work "GAD: A General Application tool for DEVS modelling and simulation",
de A. Barylko, G. Beyoglonian, G. Wainer was published in the Proceedings
of IASTED Applied Modelling and Simulation 1998. Hawaii, U.S.A. This work
describes an early version of the CD++ tool, that only allows the inclusion
of traditional DEVS models. A complete version of this work is analyzed in
the following Technical
Report.
The results of the Ph.D. Thesis are entitled Discrete event cellular models
with explicit delays. The Thesis Director was Dr. Norbert Giambiasi (Professor
at DIAM/IUSPIM; Universite d'Aix-Marseille III. France). You can obtain
a Postcript Copy of the thesis through this link.
