indicated in the latest Masters newsletter (#170), here is the letter on the
proposal to change the time of the Monday evening Masters
Whitecaps.

Dear
Carleton Masters Swimmers,
As you are
aware,
As you
know, one of the key elements to developing a high performance program is access
to adequate facilities to train and compete.  In reviewing the facility
schedule that has been established for a number of years, we are proposing the
following:
From
September 2007 to March 2008:
Mondays:
The Masters Whitecaps
time be moved to 7:40 PM - 8:50 PM (whole pool). The Varsity
Swim and Men's Water Polo programs would be moved to the 6:00
PM - 7:30 PM time slot (shallow / deep).
This change
to the traditional schedule would assist both water polo and swimming in
fostering high performance development, in particular as the varsity swimmers
have an early morning practice on Tuesdays (6:00 AM).   It also allows
provides the student-athletes more time to due their academic studies in the
evenings.
We
understand that many of you lobbied on behalf of this program to have it
reinstated and we appreciate your support as this resulted in the recognition by
the University of the importance of university sport to our community.
We would
like to collect feedback on this proposal by
Friday, June 22nd .  We hope to have a final Fall
program schedule by the end of June.
Please
forward your feedback to
Thank you
very much for considering
this proposal.
