If a student does not opt out of their school insurance and is enrolled in a minimum of four classes at Carleton University, they are eligible for a reimbursement of $25/treatment session, up to $300. The onus is on the athlete to submit the receipt to the student insurance.
Alternatively, other options for treatment on campus include accessing the Sport Medicine clinic to book in with one of the physiotherapists for a fee. Again, there is some money reimbursed on the student insurance plan as listed above. In order to book an appointment please go to the Sport Medicine clinic or call 613-520-3511.
A few student-athletes each week can get free massages on Wednesday from Algonquin College students studying Massage Therapy. Inquire and book at Varsity Athletic Therapy, the room by the Alumni Hall doors to Parking Lot 5 and the Fieldhouse.
To be eligible to swim on the Varsity team, there are a lot of forms to complete!
Please follow these instructions to register:
Once you have completed the registration, you will be able to see your “Dashboard” consisting of red "X"s and green "check mark"s. The “X”s are not necessarily an indication that you have not completed the content. Each of these sections must be approved by Athletics Administration. The X will change to a check mark once these components have been verified. The Confirmation Page allows you to view all components and will identify any sections you may have missed. Please review the Confirmation Page carefully.
New swimmers: Cost is $50. Click "Register" and follow the instructions. After completion, please send me your U Sports ID as Carleton needs this for eligibility purposes. Once you have done that and have been added to Carleton's athlete list, I will let you know and you need to go back in and go through your profile page by page, and sign off on the "Athlete Consent Acknowledgement" on the last page of your profile.
Returning swimmers: No cost. Click "Sign In" and follow the instructions. Note that you need your U Sports ID from last year -- let me know if you need this as I have a list. Once you are logged in, confirm your personal information (page by page) and be sure to sign off on the "Athlete Consent Acknowledgement". Please email me (or tell me) when you've completed this, as I don't get a confirmation email.
If you encounter any difficulties with the system contact me.
