My Working Experience

1995 - 1999, Research Assistant, Condition-Based Maintenance Lab, University of Toronto. Analyzed maintenance engineering datasets, evaluated a software prototype, and contributed to research projects.
1994, Programmer, Department of Statistics, University of Toronto. Provided statistical programming support to a staff member. Wrote various programs, produced numerical and graphical results, and helped analyzing the results.
1993 - 1998, Teaching Assistant, University of Toronto. Tutored undergraduate courses in Probability, Statistics, Quality Control, Decision Making, Operations Research, and Systems Engineering. I had created and maintained a course website for the Systems Engineering course.
1993, Computer Technician, Tian Ying Computer Company, Beijing. I was a member of a team setting up several local post and communications office computer networks. Wrote the company newsletters and translated technical documents.
1992 - 1993, Computer Programmer/Analyst, Center for Information Sciences, Peking University. Worked on a hand-written digit recognition project with members from the Department of Probability and Statistics. Developed hand-written digit recognition algorithms, implemented them in FORTRAN, and tested them using real samples.
